Greetings! It is indeed a great privilege and honor to be elected as ESCRS President and secretary general. We are truly thankful to our fellow colorectal surgeons.It is also a tremendous responsibility. As you may know, ESCRS is one of the biggest and oldest colorectal societies in the region . One of the peculiar problems in our region is the great variability in the standard of colorectal surgery in its different parts as also the variable pathological entities we encounter. Our main aim is to improve the standard of Colorectal surgery in the developing and under-developed countries in our region by educational activities, symposia, laparoscopic courses and scientific meetings that no patient is left with inadequate treatment.
