Greetings! It is indeed a great privilege and honor to be elected as ESCRS President and secretary general. We are truly thankful to our fellow colorectal surgeons.It is also a tremendous responsibility. As you may know, ESCRS is one of the biggest and oldest colorectal societies in the region . One of the peculiar problems in our region is the great variability in the standard of colorectal surgery in its different parts as also the variable pathological entities we encounter.
